    Father’s Day is the day we get to show Dad how much he means to us. The day hadn’t been proclaimed officially during World War II, but it became popular nationwide as a day to celebrate and show support for so many fathers serving in the war effort. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Americans celebrated Fathers Day in June regularly just as they did Mother’s Day in May. In a way, the slogan is a reminder of how much American citizens value their right to bear arms. Firefighters are among the many other first responders who risk their lives every day they are on the job. They work 24-hour shifts and, sometimes, take up to ten calls a day to protect their communities and the people who live in them.
