The present Colombia flag has been used since 1861. It has three horizontal stripes; yellow taking up the top half of the flag, blue and red at the bottom. The first flag had vertical stripes of red to the left, blue and yellow to the right. It was in use from 1831-1858. The second flag was like the first except it had a coat of arms in the center of the blue stripe. The final version is the one we know today.
