From 1914 to early 1962 Uganda flew a blue British ensign. This flag had a circle on the right hand side with a grey-crowned crane. The next flag only lasted a few months and featured five vertical stripes of green, yellow, and blue. In the center of the blue stripe there was a golden-crowned crane. Later in the same year, the present flag was created. It features six horizontal stripes of black, yellow and red. In the center is a round white disc with a grey-crowned crane.
