Iceland Flags

The Icelandic flag had been used unofficially since 1913. It was officially recognized in 1915 and first flown on naval ships in 1918. In 1944 it was recognized as the official flag of the Iceland republic. It has a blue background with a white cross offset to the left center. There is a red cross inside the white one. It was designed by Matthias Thordarson. The cross represents the Scandinavian relationship that Iceland enjoys. The color blue is for the mountains, white represents the ice and snow, and red symbolizes the volcanic activity of the country.

Our top-quality Iceland flags conform to all official specifications. Emblems and designs are executed with the highest possible degree of accuracy in regard to detail, color shades, placement and proportion to flag size.
